As for the U19 category, we now know the composition of the groups for the Elite Qualifying Round in view of the Euro 2018 U17, to be held from 9 to 21 next in Lithuania. The draw was held today at UEFA headquarters.

An Elite round which is the last filter before the Euro with seven groups of four teams, in which only the team that finished first in its group will be able to access the final tournament. The matches of each group will take place during the months of February and next March, with for each group a host country designated to host all meetings.

The four teams of the group meet once, and after the six meetings (three days of two matches), the first team in the standings will qualify for the Euro.

The France U17 team is in the group of Sweden, Scotland and Finland. France who participated in the last Euro U17 was not seeded, and is in the same group as Sweden who has achieved a Qualifying Round without fail with three wins in three games and without conceding goals.

Les Bleuettes also finished first of their group in the Qualifying Round, ahead of Denmark. Sweden and France could compete for the qualifying spot in this group 2 with Scotland and Finland as referees.

In the other groups, the holders of the German title, exempt from the Qualifying Round, will be opposed in group 7 to Ireland, Iceland and Azerbaijan while Spain, finalist of the last Euro, will be in group 3 alongside Denmark, Russia and Israel. Both present at the last Euro, England and Norway will be in Group 5 with Switzerland and Slovenia.
