Voted best player of the year 2014 by FIFA, Wolfsburg's playmaker, Nadine Kessler won the Champions League with her club in 2014. For Coeur de Foot, she returns to this trophy and addresses this second part of season, with a focus on the World Cup.

Football Hearts - In addition to having ambitious teams in the Champions League, do you think France can become a serious underdog for the World Cup in Canada in addition to its third place in the FIFA rankings?

Nadine Kessler - In my opinion, the France team is not an outsider. France is one of the favorites to win the World Cup this year. They have fantastic players and it's a team with a lot of strong players technically.

Soccer Hearts - What does this FIFA Best Player of the Year Award for 2014 mean to you?

N. K. - It's a reward for all the hard work. This prize I owe to Wolfsburg and the German national team. It's a great honor to be nominated alongside Abby Wambach and Marta - winning the award makes it all the more special.

Football Hearts - What are your expectations with Wolfsburg for this second half of the season?

N. K. - My main priority is to come back in top form. We are in a very good position in the three competitions where we are in the running and we would like to go to the end in all. There will be a lot of tough games in the second half of the season and we have to be at our best. I think there is a very good chance to bring more trophies to Wolfsburg!

Football Hearts - A word on Germany's group for the World Cup after the draw done?

N. K. - We and Norway are the favorites to win the group. We take each opponent very seriously and will not underestimate the teams we face. Obviously, however, we want to win the group.

Football Hearts - Can we say that women's football in Germany is at the top or is there still room for improvement or change?

N. K. - There is always room for improvement, for each player, each club and for the entire league. The German league is the strongest, but you can always improve it!

Football hearts - There are countries where a young woman can not play football because of different reasons, which is not the case in Germany, what message would you like to pass?

N. K. - I wish all girls and women who want to play football that they can do it, regardless of the place or country where they live. All girls and women should be able to live off their passion for football, play and have fun.
