Born September 2, 1988 in Longumeau, Sarah Palacin has been an attacker at Les Vertes at ASSE since 2011. Year of her discovery of the Women's Division 1.
Sarah is said to be a hard-hitting and generous player in the effort. Quality that she developed as she arrived in D1 at ASSE. A journey that begins in the Val d'Orge Essonne club at the age of 15 years. "I started in Val d'Orge, Sarah begins. I came from a boys' team, I did a first year in U16, and my second in PH where we went up to DHR. My third year, we also went to DH where I did my fourth and last year. I keep very good relationships with the people of the club, I am every weekend their results, "said Sarah Palacin.
The midfielder, Audrey Maquerlot who knew him in Val d'Orge and who is still telling. "Sarah is a child of the club, she arrived at the creation of the Val d'Orge club in 2003. Little anecdote, the following year, in the final of the Cup of Essonne, the club is led 2-0 at the 85th minute. A tripling of Sarah later, the club won its first cup. With two climbs in two years, Sarah was our leader on the field, a serial scorer, a talent in the rough, a girl always smiling and pleasant. She left only good memories at the club and we are very proud of her success at AS Saint-Étienne. "
After the regional level, Sarah will rub shoulders with the national level. A desire to play more than climb the ladder at the time. "I've always loved playing and I just wanted to play. The taste for high level competition came very late, "says Sarah.
After Val d'Orge and the department of Essonne, Sarah stays in Ile-de-France and takes the direction in 2008 of Hauts-de-Seine and Issy-les-Moulineaux then in D3. "I arrived in Issy-les-Moulineaux continues Sarah. This is the club that allowed me to know the national level, I had a time of adaptation to find my bearings, after we are directly mounted in D2. My second season was on a personal level a successful season.
David Remisse, who coached Sarah during 3 seasons, continues: "Sarah is, before being a brilliant player, a very good person, very loyal and faithful. When I recruited her at Issy, she just wanted to play. After a while, the staff and I managed to get him to measure the competition and its potential. Naturally, she had solicitations to play in D1. She did not want to leave until the club went up to D1. But when she asked for my opinion about her ability to join ASSE, I told her to go there and not look behind. I knew she would succeed in view of her potential. Besides, I am convinced that she can still cross capes. I wish him good luck for the rest of his career. "
After a decent season in D3, Sarah becomes the top scorer in Group B of D2 the following year in 2010 with 25 goals scored. A prolific season that draws attention to her. After a second season in Issy in D2, she joined ASSE and the province. She discovered the D1 in 2011 and scored 6 goals in her first season. "She was one of the top scorers in D2. Sarah had the potential. She had to change a few things in her game. Her speed was her strong point. In D1, she had to improve her game. Sarah has many qualities even if the beginnings were complicated for her at ASSE. She is now a senior player for the team ", insists Hervé Didier, coach Etienne.
Aude Moreau also played with her at ASSE: "Sarah is a good player with a great quality of speed and technical qualities that allow her to be a scorer. It is a player who has a lot of desire and who does not hesitate to do the defensive work. She is therefore a fairly complete attacker and an important player for the collective. Outside the field Sarah is a friendly, welcoming and smiling girl who does not hesitate to help others ".
For his part, coach Claude Rioust today in Hénin-Beaumont who had met him with Arras in D1 recalls: "She had been on a series of matches where she was very efficient in front of goal. But what really appealed to me was its relevance in its bullets. His races were always effective. To make yourself available or free spaces for his partners. Then her efficiency in front of goal, knowing that if she is adroit as she was at that time and with hard work, I think that a good career is presented to her. And finally percussion hurts because it can destabilize a whole defense. Very intelligent and serene. All of a great player.
Jean-Claude Barrault who met him with Soyaux also remarks: "I remember Sarah because it is she who marks the only goal of our return match against St Etienne who prevents us from finishing in the top 5 of the championship . I remember this small size, punchy, effective in front of the goal. She seems to me to have more playing time now, sign that the coach thinks that it has acquired more maturity, it weighs much more on the opposing defenses.
During the fourth season in Saint-Étienne, she reveals herself completely and participates in maintaining the ASSE with 15 goals in the elite for one more season. A new prolific season that earned him this time to be called in France B team against Poland. Before knowing the France B team, Sarah had known the Universiade which was at that time, the first international competition played by Sarah. A competition that coach Jean-François Niemezcki, also coach of the France B team, recalls: "I met Sarah at the Universiade in China with the team from France Universitaire. She had all the ingredients of a top-level attacker. I find that it moves better and better even if I think it lacks power. I took it in France B team because it was flaming in Saint-Etienne. She has prospects. She has blended into the collective and is an easygoing player. She has all the tools to succeed. "
Four seasons in Val d'Orge, three seasons in Issy, Sarah begins her fifth season with the Vertes. Fidelity in the clubs that do not fade. "I get attached to the club and people very quickly," says Sarah. When I am in a club, it is to invest myself entirely. And I am very attached to ASSE currently. For the moment, author of 2 goals in 8 games this season before the 11th day of Sunday which will oppose the ASSE in Albi. A player who is still predicting a margin of progression.
