AS Saint-Etienne yesterday made the name of its new coach. This is Jérôme Bonnet, who succeeds Hervé Didier with the main task of getting the Vertes back in the first division, after their surprise run this season.

Jérôme Bonnet arrived at the club in 2012, and notably held the position of coach of the U19 team and technical coordinator, with responsibilities in the training of the young players of the club. Among the players in the first team he coached with ASSE youths, we can mention Mylène Chavas, Audrey Chaumette, Candice Gherbi or Coralie Digonnet.

With Jerome Bonnet, the club makes the choice to rely on a technician already familiar with the operation of the Green House, since he was also the assistant coach of Hervé Didier this season, while continuing to play its role of coordinator technical.

A choice that goes with the willingness displayed by the new coach to tap into the "pool" Etienne, with U19 who are regularly present among the best teams in young people, finishing this third season of Group B in the Elite Challenge. A recourse to young people who will necessarily have questions about ASSE's staff for the upcoming season.

Indeed, many players should be solicited by D1 clubs, the proximity of Jerome Bonnet with the group can it be used to retain some of the frames for next season? This will probably be one of the first tasks awaiting the new coach in the coming weeks.
