It was one of the late matches of the round of 16 of the Coupe de France, the match between Stade de Reims and Arras FCF. Two top teams in Group A in D2 and who met in early February in Champagne with a 2-1 victory of the Remoises.
For this new trip, the Arrageoises managed to win at the end of the shooting session. A long session won seven-for-six shots by the North after 90 minutes when the two teams were neutralized 1-1. Arras opened the scoring at the start of the last 15 minutes by Marie Schepers (76), while the two teams had previously found the opposite crossbar.
In stoppage time, Reims managed to come back on top by Agathe Dumont (90 + 2) who had already hit the bar in the first half. This goal allows Amandine Miquel's players to push the Arrageoises towards a shoot-out session, an event that Arras will win 7-6 after nine players from each team hit the goal.
Before this match, the two teams knew their eventual future opponent, since the draw had designated Olympique Lyonnais to move to Reims or Arras quarter-final. Northerners will therefore have the "privilege" of receiving the champions of Lyon on April 15.
The last match of these eighths will oppose the Paris Saint-Germain and Rodez, on March 25 next to the Camp des Loges.
