FCF Juvisy has formalized the termination of its rights at Paris FC in a statement. The drama that started this season had some snags but the outcome has now come to an end. A decision that now comes to project the club Essonne to a new dimension, with a view to the upcoming season which is already announced more than any other year.
In a statement released Thursday, the Juvisy club announced the transfer of rights to Paris FC. Indeed, this project aims to compete with other clubs to find the Champions League, competition that Juvisy has not played since the 2012/2013 season. Nevertheless, the women's section will play its games at the Robert Bobin Stadium in Bondoufle, but the release also evokes the possibility of seeing a few matches played at Stade Charléty. Concerning the organization chart of the club, if Pierre Ferracci keeps his position as president, Marie-Christine Terroni will take care of the women's section.
The official communiqué
FCF Juvisy Essonne and Paris FC are pleased to announce the officialization of the transfer of FCF rights Juvisy Essonne to the Paris Football Club.
Created in 1971, the Juvisy Essonne Women's Football Club has been playing in women's D1 since 1987 and is one of the best French clubs, counting several international players. With 6 league titles in France, 4 participations in the UEFA Women's Champions League including a semifinal in 2013, the FCF Juvisy Essonne has a track record. Juvisy is now an exception in female D1 performing very well while having an amateur status. In the 2016/2017 season, eight of the twelve female D1 residents were from professional men's clubs, and this trend will be accentuated in the years to come. In recent seasons, women's football has become an important development sector for clubs and their partners. Beyond the first team, FCF Jusivy Essonne presents a high-performance football school. This season, the club has hosted nearly 370 members in 11 teams, from football school to seniors. In July 2016, FCF Juvisy Essonne opened a sports section, a sign of the club's desire to improve training.
Founded in 1969, Paris FC has obtained professional status since 2015, which opens up new possibilities and opens new horizons for it. In the last ten years, Paris FC has built a solid base by developing club training. By propelling its youth teams to the highest level, Paris FC has become one of the best training clubs in the amateur world. With the transition to professional status, the club has the will to continue and intensify this work. To do this, it relies on a pool of Ile-de-France rich, one of the best in the world. In parallel, the Paris FC has fully developed for several years its women's section which had this season nearly 130 licensed.
In 2019, the women's football World Cup, organized in France, will give a new dimension to this sport. Thus, today is the opportunity to give a new impetus to women's football in Île de France. The expertise of FCF Juvisy will provide the opportunity to attract the best talents in the Paris region, with the aim of creating a high-performance training center that will bring together in the coming years the male and female players of Paris FC.
Thus, Paris FC and FCF Juvisy Essonne will join forces in a joint project. The amateur status of Juvisy no longer allows him to compete with the professional clubs that are developing at high speed. In order to grow up against these clubs, stay competitive and regain the UEFA Women's Champions League, obtaining professional status is a necessity. The expertise of the top men and the professionalism of Paris FC will promote the structuring of the club and its development. Becoming the first male and female training club in France will be one of the objectives and the pooling of infrastructures will facilitate its development.
On June 22, 2017, during an exceptional General Assembly at the Essonne Club, the transfer of rights was voted on and validated two days later by the FFF COMEX.
In a desire for consistency and development, the union of the two clubs will be under the name of the Paris Football Club. With nearly 1,100 members, including 400 women, Paris FC is expanding its reach and will also hold the largest women's section in France.
The name Juvisy Essonne does not disappear because it will be represented on the official club uniforms, as well as on the communication media.
The jerseys, which will also soon be unveiled, will respect the history and identity of each. Paris FC will obviously evolve in blue and will also propose a white and black jersey.
In addition, FCF Juvisy will keep its history and track record, under the name of Paris FC.
As announced at the press conference of March 31, 2017, the elite of women's football will remain in Essonne. The women's pennant team will continue to play its matches at Robert Bobin stadium in Bondoufle, a stadium, a territory, dear to the club and local communities. In a development objective, it is possible that some matches are disputed at the Charléty stadium in Paris.
Paris FC is very committed to root conservation so that the social and societal aspect does not change. The youngsters playing this season at the Juvisy club will continue to train in Essonne, and the youth of Paris FC will not leave the 20th arrondissement. The representation of the regions will always exist and the existing structures will always be exploited. This will aim to promote the flow of talent and bring added value to the project, under the name of Paris FC.
The official website of FCF Juvisy Essonne will be migrated to that of Paris FC during the month of July, to form only one. The different social networks will also be pooled in the coming weeks.
Finally, Pierre Ferracci remains President of Paris FC, Pierre Dréossi continues as General Manager, while Marie-Christine Terroni, former FCF President Juvisy Essonne, will be President of Paris FC Women.
We are happy with these advances and eager to meet you for a season 2017-2018 more than ever decisive, TOGETHER!
This merger is one of the axes of the development of the Paris FC project whose ambition remains to become the club of Greater Paris. The link between Paris and the department of Essonne is thus strengthened, and the territory of Paris FC extended. We'll be stronger together.
