After a two-week international break, the championship is back. What do you reserve for the meetings in the program of the 4th day of D1 feminine? Elements of answers.
Win to put pressure
After having finally launched with two victories against La Roche (2-0) and Albi (1-2), Juvisy must continue on its dynamic to stay in touch with the top three and put the pressure before OL-PSG . In a derby that looks hot against VGA Saint-Maur, they will want to clinch their second home win of the season, facing Saint-Maurienne in full confidence before the game. The latter have expressed, through their coach and captain, their willingness to hang on, or even trap the Essonniennes on their ground. So suspicion even if this game advanced to Saturday night is a great opportunity to put pressure on Lyon and Paris before the shock Sunday.
Montpellier also would have any interest in winning at home against Saint-Etienne. After the good draw in the capital before the truce (0-0), Montpellier will want to continue to confirm their ambitions. In front, the Amazons are losing momentum after hanging Juvisy on the first day (2-2). The setbacks against Rodez (1-0) and Soyaux (1-2) dragged the Vertes to ninth place. In case of no win Sunday, they are likely to fall in the red zone.
Others need to breathe
A red zone that Nîmes and Guingamp want to leave. Both clubs have three losses in as many games this season. If the schedule was difficult for both teams, each having played Montpellier and OL, this match is the perfect opportunity for both teams to finally take off. Nîmes has already missed this opportunity on the last day against Saint-Maur (3-1), it should not be missed this time. Under pain for the loser to continue to sink in the standings.
The finding is the same for the Roche sur Yon, another team in the same situation as Nîmes and Guingamp. After a difficult start to the season, marked by two heavy defeats in duels already crucial for the maintenance against Albi (0-3) and Rodez (0-3), the Vendeennes want to believe against Soyaux. The Soljadian women writers, conversely, a good start to the season, with two wins against Guingamp (0-1) and Saint-Etienne (1-2) with meanwhile a defeat against Paris (0-2) . They will want, among other things, against La Roche to clinch their first victory in front of their audience against a team that needs oxygen in this championship.
In the soft belly duel, Albi, stopped by Juvisy (1-2) after a hot start to the season, wants to start from the front against Rodez, who remains on two wins after his heavy defeat in Paris on the first day (5-0). So close match, but essential to take even more distance on the bottom of the table and stick to the first of the championship.
The poster of the 4th day
It is the most awaited match for several seasons. The clash between Olympique Lyonnais, nine-time champion of France, and Paris Saint-Germain, vice-champion of Europe. Sunday afternoon at the Stade Gerland, the fans will vibrate.
Paris is forced to win this meeting in the Rhone, under penalty of seeing OL and the MHSC take the wide standings. With a game and efficiency that is struggling to set up, partly due to the late integration of some recruits, the PSG will have to do better than against the MHSC to win. Especially with Henning's injuries, Georges and Boulleau behind, the task looks harder. The club of the capital will however be able to count on Mittag and Cristiane, who have already found the fault in D1.
Opposite, the Lyonnaises, already the only leader of the championship, want to assert their domination. After three first games in their range, this shock against the Parisiennes will be a first real test this season for the players of Gérard Prêcheur. If the Lyon group's confidence seems full, Fenottes will have to be wary of this diminished PSG. Because nothing prevents them from falling into the same trap as last year, in case of significant inefficiency.
J4, in a few figures
