Laëtitia Philippe, the goalkeeper of Montpellier HSC, found Tuesday the training grounds. The 26-year-old had been absent from the long-running court because of a serious back injury.
With Meline Gerard, American rookie Casey Murphy and the return of injury from Laetitia Philippe, the MHSC currently has three goalies. In recent times in Montpellier, we did not find the same abundance at the level of field players. The coach from Montpellier Jean-Louis Saez had to deal with the wounds of Marion Romanelli, Marion Torrent and Laura Agard in defense, then Sandie Toletti and Anouk Dekker in midfield. These absences were also felt during the last league match on 21 February against FC Fleury (1-1).
Fortunately, Saez was also able to count two weeks ago on the returns of Virginia Torrecilla and Laetitia Tonazzi. These two comebacks are not too much for the MHSC, before their quarter-final first leg of the Champions League at home on March 21 against Chelsea. Before that, Montpellier - currently third behind D1 behind Olympique Lyonnais and Paris Saint-Germain - will have two league games to play, against Guingamp on March 11 and Paris FC on March 18.
