It was an expected match, both by the Montpellier and the Guingampaises. Montpellier wanted to confirm their 7-0 win against Nîmes while Guingamp finally wanted to start his season after a surprise defeat at home against Soyaux (0-1).

The match will take a long time to settle down. The first period will not bring a goal-oriented show for the audience in Grammont. The spectators will have been very patient because the opening of the score will come only at the end of the match!

While Guingamp thought to go to a draw, Marie-Charlotte Leger, the Montpellier striker, unblocks the situation in the 86th minute. This is the third goal of the season after his double against Nimes.

Montpellier will then drive the nail with goals of Valerie Gauvin, 89th, and Sofia Jakobsson, 92nd minute. Note that Valérie Gauvin scored her fourth goal of the season, while Sofia Jakobsson scored her second goal.

Remember that Sofia Jakobsson was awarded the Best Player of the Season award for her first season in France. Guingamp also finished ten in this nightmarish end of match, Aminata Diallo seeing red after a second yellow card.

This victory allows Montpellier to take first place in the championship, while waiting for the meetings of tomorrow. As for Guingamp, the start of the season is more than complicated with two defeats, against Soyaux (0-1) and Montpellier (3-0), not to mention that the Breton team has still not scored on this edition 2015 / 2016 of the D1.
