American goaltender Casey Murphy has officially joined Montpellier. And this just after the draft NWSL where she was chosen in the second round by Sky Blue (Choice number 13). The door becomes the third American player to wear the colors of the Hérault club, after Jessica Remmes and Genessee Daughetee.
Great (1.85m), aged 21, Murphy arrives from the American university championship, specifically Scarlet Knights Rutgers (New Jersey). The Herault club, third in the D1 standings, was looking for a second goalkeeper of great caliber to support Méline Gérard.

For those who watched the U20 World Cup in Papua New Guinea in 2016, she was the one guarding the American goals. The Americans went to the semi-finals (eliminated by North Korea, future winner). She was the goalkeeper who made the most stoppage of the tournament (21). There will be a good competition between the American and the French Meline Gerard to keep the goals of Montpellier.
