According to Le Parisien, the women's club FF Issy (D2 female) will merge with the Red Star, National club. This merger will take place next season.
It must be believed that the mergers of women's clubs with men's clubs are fashionable in Île-de-France. There is only to remember the two cases of this season. First that of Juvisy absorbed by Paris FC, or that of Val d'Orge which merged with that of Fleury-Mérogis to become FC Fleury. This time, it is the D2 women's club of FF Issy (Hauts-de-Seine) who should do the same with the Red Star, men's club National.
At present, the Red Star has a women's section of about sixty licensed, but only among youth (U6 to U16). The merger, which would take effect next season, is expected to be officially announced next week. We do not know, however, which name will bear this future entity.
