Before the kick-off of a new season in women's D1, Delphine Saez, goalkeeper of Nîmes Métropole, agreed to answer 3 questions before the derby against Montpellier. Even if staying among the elite will require a lot of work, crocodiles seem more motivated than ever to show what they are capable of!

This year, Nîmes accesses the D1, how did you prepare for this season among the elite?
I will start my 10th season with Nîmes. For the first time we access the elite is a good thing for the club and for the city of Nimes. I could not prepare myself as my girlfriends because I am a gendarme in Aveyron and I work all the month of August. On the other hand I am transferred in Gard on September 1st, so I will be able to train more regularly.

The defeat against OL, in a friendly match, did you prepare for it?
Yes quite. We must face the fact OL players are "pros" and we amateurs. We all work outside of football so we can not train every day. There is a world of difference with OL and PSG and we are totally aware of it. That said it is always a pleasure to receive the OL, it helps to bring a few people to the edge of the field. They mostly come to see the internationals, but it's already a good start. I especially hope that they will come to encourage us against teams that will be at our door, it is at that moment that we will need them.
The derby against Montpellier during the first day is a good thing?
I think so. This will put us in the bath. In addition the game will be broadcast on Eurosport so it's a very good thing for the club and the city of Nimes. This match is a derby and anything can happen. For those who love football, this year, we will need your encouragement to get there so I hope you will be numerous every Sunday to come support us. I would also like to thank the President, the staff and the club leaders for all they do to advance the club.
