Born June 11, 1987 in St Omer, Aurélie Desmaretz is now a midfielder at FC Lillers in Division 2. A team playing this season in group A. A long journey in the North which began in Bruay in 2002 and who continues this season at Lillers.
It is often said that Aurélie is a fast, lively, generous player in the effort and very collective. "I started playing at the age of 7 because I wanted to be like my older brother," says Aurélie. My little brother followed by playing also football, and so we always played at 3. That allowed me to get along with them, because I never wanted to lose despite the fact that I was a girl. Aurélie begins her career as a young footballer at the Jeune France of Guabecque with boys up to 15 years old. An age when we have to leave the boys to find a women's club "I went to Bruay, a club that was close to home and at the time was recognized in the female world. I started with team B and I quickly mounted team 1 which was evolving in D1 then D2 ... "
Aurélie continues on the seasons at Bruay: "I started at Bruay with the reserve and then I joined the first one that was in National. I was playing number 9. I was 16 years old, it's my mother who accompanied me to training. This club has been a stepping stone in my career. Having made good seasons, with goals, I was recruited by Henin.
At the time in Bruay, coach Michel Catalano rubbed shoulders with young Desmaretz: "Aurélie is a very good technical player, fast, combative, intelligent and very good mind. A player I would have liked to recover at Rouvroy this season. From very promising beginnings to 16 years in D2, immediately sense of purpose, speed and a good technical background. I knew she would go far but could have done better in her playing career and try to play in clubs more posh.
After Bruay, head for Hénin-Beaumont in 2006. A club that evolves in Division 1 where it will evolve for 8 seasons. Aurélie continues: "My career I made it mainly to Henin, it's inevitably in this club where I have the best memories. Where I played a few years in D1, where I could rub shoulders with the team of France ... ". Indeed, descended in D2 in 2012, the heninoises go back to D1 right after. Aurélie registered during this season in D2 19 goals. Philippe Piette, who coached him for long seasons in Hénin-Beaumont, says: "She was a very good player who was very attentive and who progressed a lot the first three years. She worked a lot for the team as an offensive midfielder on the left. She was a very good D1 player.
After Hénin-Beaumont, Aurélie joined Arras in 2014, who is already playing in D1 after climbing in 2012. She plays 20 games for 1 goal but can not avoid relegation in D2. René Devienne assistant coach of Arras remembers: "She brought to the club. I think only good. I felt like she had been there for a long time. She became a confirmed forward and had a long career. He is a club player, loyal to his club ".
For personal reasons, Aurélie joins the promoted Lillers out of the Interregions. Lillers is currently ranked 8th after 9 championship days. Author of 8 games with Lillers this season, Aurélie brings her high level experience to the Pas de Calais club. A significant contribution that analyzes the coach David Gabsi: "Aurélie is a serious player who brings all his experience to the team, it is able to play in different registers that is in the axis or on the sides. Aurélie has a very good state of mind and has quickly become part of the group.
A long journey that will have led to all the great fields of France whether in D1 or D2 female. A loyalty to the northern region. Aurélie concludes: "I reconciled studies then work with football. Studies that I could do in the North. Region where I also have a job. I could also move in my region in D1 while remaining close to my family. My family and especially my parents have always supported me and have always followed me. I thank them for all the efforts they have made for me. "
