At the club since 2009, Flavie Lemaître greatly participated in Rodez's rise from the D2 Feminine to the D1 during the 2009/2010 season. From then on, Tourangelle became a cadre of the Ruthenian formation. Against PSG, his experience was put to the test, but the Rafette was a factor of weight to retain the Parisian in their tracks, especially in the first period, before yielding to the pressure in the second half, on the score of 0-3. Interview.
Your impression of the match? It was complicated against PSG, with the ground also where it was difficult to play?
Yes then the terrain was already delicate, we knew that it was going to be more harmful to them than us. It was a game where they were bound to hit the ball more, so it was a bit to our advantage [the pitch]. After that the field was very difficult, we had played last week on it and it was already a little bad so it got worse there. After a good first half we are solid, we hold and we knew that at half-time nothing was done, and that the next 45 minutes were going to be even more difficult. We did not get too much out of the game, it was a little scabrous and after half-time, we say that nothing is done, that the next 45 minutes will be even more complex because we start to be a little bit physically tired. Should not crack in the first quarter of an hour, unfortunately that's what happened. We take three goals in quick succession. It is true that for 10 minutes there is an intense moment where we have not necessarily been in and we paid cash. After we managed to hold until the end, the substitutes were good, they gave a second wind to the team. So it was a difficult match, 0-3 we can say that it's not bad, after there are some regrets on the quarter of an hour when we went through what.
It's still better than the go we will say, as we said to the coach, there is a certain satisfaction?
Yes it's still better than going, after that the advantage is that we are at home, in front of our audience, on a field we know. Yes it is well after, there are regrets, because we do good things and unfortunately on lack of concentration, on small oversights, for 10 minutes we take the lightning, we take three so it is that which is a pity.
"From the moment we physically loose that's where the opposing team, it will take over."
We also spoke with the coach, during the week we are preparing to receive the big teams like Paris, after that still difficult to win against teams like that?
Yes, after that we work on details, on the little things that the coach wants us to put in place during the match. We know that on these confrontations, the biggest preparation is mental and collective. Finally in my opinion it is mental, in aggression, combativeness, not lower your head, always be in the effort ... Because from the moment when we physically loose is where the opposing team she will take over. After you always have to work on match scenarios, something that we tried to put in place but it was rough there.
We saw that for your case, it was 15 years that you played football club, and 8 years with Rodez, you participate in the rise of the club in D1. From the first season, you feel more and more. How did you live it?
Yes after that we already had a strong collective and I think we had a recruitment, which had made a very good first half of the season in D1. In D2 already we had recruited girls of experiences like Laura Agard, then Delphine Blanc ... I had already played in D1 so a collective with players who had still played in D1 and it is the recruitment which has the difference I think, on our first year of D1 where it was effective what. It allowed us to grow together too.
We saw that during the 2014/2015 season, you had imposed yourself, it was a special season for you?
Yes (laughs) exceptional. Yes it was a very good season, my best season for me individually. I think I was also lucky to have a collective that believed in me, who trusted me and who served me the passes, because all alone I could not score all these goals. After that it's a virtuous circle, we score one, two, three, then all the matches, and we realize that we are confident and that everything we do that succeeds us and it is a very beautiful season at the end, what.
"I had the feeling that as soon as I did not score, it was a failure in fact"
After we felt a little more withdrawn, it was wanted on your part, maybe to let others score, to be rather a passer, or to have a relaying role?
No, I would have liked to continue (laughs) but here it was a more difficult year for me because I was passing my coaching diplomas so I was a little more tired I think. Then I had the counter-coup of this season a little pomp, where I leave the best season for me. In front of me there's only girls from pro clubs so it was really rewarding. I had this feeling that as soon as I did not score, it was a failure in fact, because last year I was not used to that. I took my routines and when I did not get there, I went from failure to failure a bit. After that I knew all that, I questioned myself and in the final I scored 5 or 6 goals so it's not too bad but it was not enough for me.
"Every year there's a little event going on, that makes us want to continue football."
What is the best memory you keep in Rodez since your 8 years at the club?
There is so much (smile). The climb already, D2 / D1 it was exceptional. Every year there is a small event going on, which makes us want to continue the football. That's what makes you live a collective moment. It is especially the collective emotions that mark me every time so I think that with all the groups that I knew here [in Rodez] I had very beautiful adventures, very beautiful years and it is also for I'm still here, because I like it and I'm good, in life as well as in football.
There you know a bit of a difficult season, because you are 9th in the provisional ranking. You talk about it between yourself, it's a frustrating situation? How come when you finished 5th last season?
I think we must not compare the years because they follow each other but not necessarily alike. So yes for sure, last season we had a great year, but I did not compare it to my year individually, which went very well for me. We go from success to success, we are in a circle where everything we do it works, we score goals, we win matches, we increase the rankings and then the group lives even better, there's no problem and everything rolls in fact.
"we slowly get up from the bad time we had"
After this year, we encounter some difficulties, the group has changed, we lack experience, we will not hide the face. I think we have a team that is young despite everything. We have lost maturity too, because there are girls who are young. Obviously those girls, who have not had much time in D1, there are some gaps, they will correct later, it's normal. We all went there one day. We need time to learn, play time too and we those players who miss a little experience, I think that in a year, two years, I believe in them, it will be well. But this lack of experience, it fishing a little on our game, we encounter difficulties. I think that we are in a period where we are slowly recovering from the bad period we had. The group will grow together and it will continue. We also had players who had ligaments crossed, two girls who were executives in the team, so it was damaging for us.
Est-ce que c'est aussi la montée des clubs comme Bord
waters or Marseille, which are attached to clubs of Ligue 1, which makes you work your brain or whatever the team that goes up, it remains the same for you?
No, well we know that it's clubs, which have more financial means, because the support club is still boys in Ligue 1, something we do not have. So we know, but afterwards it's not because the girls in front, have a federal contract, they'll be better than us in the field. We defend our values, we defend our side a bit amateur and then if we are in Rodez, it's because we have a little bit chosen at a given moment and we feel good. So yes it is sure that the professional clubs, go up with much more money, that in future it could become complicated for Rodez. Especially if all clubs offer federal contracts but not us, at some point we will not have the best players, it's normal. But it's not what scares us right now, we have qualities, we have players of experience, we have good young players and we have a collective that is still welded and become.
Last question, it concerns the Coupe de France, you qualified against Albi. It's a good win for you, to continue this adventure when you finished semi-finalist last season, falling to OL? How do you see the match against Metz?
Yes after what marked the blow [in 2016], it's our quarterfinal, we won against Guingamp where it was an intense match, there was a lot of people at the stadium, we lose 2-0 we come back to 2-2 and we win the penaltys. That's the kind of memory that will remain to me, that marked me and that was really extraordinary.
It's a Cup match, in these meetings have the knife under the throat so weirdly we approach them a little better I think. Because Albi, we are led 1-0, we come back to 1-2, this is the first time in the year when we manage to rebase the situation. So mentally it shows that we are still solid, something we have not done in the championship so far, where we have never managed to return the scenario to our advantage and here I say that Metz we will not take them lightly because for them, it may be the only thing left to them, because at the level of the championship, in view of the number of points they have, it is a little folded ... They will be at home and it will be hard for us so we will approach it in the best way, we will prepare this game, because we want to win it obviously. The Cup has always been the competition that has given us the most emotions so we want to stay there and go as far as possible.
