FC Fleury won 2-0 against Rodez early in the afternoon on behalf of the 10th day of D1. A success with the way for the players of Essonne who have scored one goal per period and are closer to their opponents of the day in the race to maintain.

Fleury took important points this afternoon, the second victory of the Ile-de-France team after that obtained against Marseille in early November. Six points that do not allow for the moment Fleury out of the red zone, but for the first time to get involved in the fight for keeping on the heels of his direct opponents, including Rodez.

This Sunday, the meeting took place on one of the annex lawns of the Auguste Gentelet stadium, the main terrain was difficult to pass with the cold and the few snowfalls of recent days. The choice to play on synthetic did not disadvantage (quite the contrary) a team Fleury player, and able to circulate the ball between the opposing lines.

Fleury hit entry

The club of Essonne who presented with an eleven where Teninsoun Sissoko evolved on the right side of the defense, to make up for the absence of Gwenaëlle Butel, while Marine Haupais, arrival of Montpellier later this month of November, was moving in the axis alongside Léonie Multari. An addition, with the arrival of Marine Haupais, which now strengthens the pace of experience of this Fleury team whose face has evolved over the weeks on this beginning of the season.

On the side of Rodez, Grégory Mleko had to cope with the absence of Flavie Lemaître, sick before the game, causing the repositioning of Julie Peruzzetto at the tip of the attack, she who moves most often in midfield. This lack of real edge was felt throughout the meeting on the side of Rodez, and probably participated in the silence of the attack Aveyron on this meeting.

The first strike of the match is yet to put to the credit of Rodez with an attempt by Angeline Da Costa who passes above the goals of Maryne Gignoux (1st). Yet in this meeting, it is Fleury who will manage to quickly open the score through Sarah Palacin who scored his first goal with Fleury.

A goal scored in the 7th minute, with Salma Amani who finds Julie Rabanne in the depth. Her shot is pushed back by RAF goalkeeper Déborah Garcia, but the ball returns to the feet of Sarah Palacin who can score with a shot close to the left post. A symbolically important goal for the attacker Fleury who tries a lot since the beginning of the season and his return from injury, but without having found the way to the nets.

Missed opportunities

Effective on this start of the match, Fleury seems in danger on the few sequences where Rodez manages to impose a high pressing, which forces the players of the Essonne to make the ball close to their surface and expose themselves to adverse attempts as on these strikes Océane Saunier (13th) and Angéline Da Costa (27th) who pass each time close to the frame.

But the local players are also dangerous, like this action in the 25th minute concluded by a half volley of Charlotte Fernandes on a center of Sarah Palacin and that Deborah Garcia finally manages to deviate for a corner at the foot of his pole left. Charlotte Fernandes who is perhaps the only player of Fleury to be able to nourish regrets, she who tried much without managing to shake the nets.

In addition to this action, it will abut twice on the amounts in the second period. First in the 57th minute, following a change of wing of Julie Rabanne, she places a shot from the right near the surface that comes to touch the left post before going outside the field. At the 70th minute, she came out at the far post on a center coming from the right but her recovery came up against the right post, again without success. A second period, where Fleury had opportunities to take off but also scared.

"Super-subs"

Grégory Mleko had to make a first change at the break with the exit of Fanny Hoarau, hit in the first period. The RAF coach then decided to bring Clara Noiran to the forefront of the attack, and to back a notch Julie Peruzzeto, while Coralie Austry was moving instead of Fanny Hoarau on the left side. Clara Noiran found on the first dangerous action of the first period, with a ball Laurie Cance for his teammate in the back of the defense, and on which Maryne Gignoux made a decisive exit (49th).

Subsequently, the spirits warm up after contacts between players of both teams, and Fleury suddenly lost its serenity while the RAF is not necessarily dangerous. It will take long minutes for Fleury to regain control, time for Julie Peruzzetto to strike a few free kicks in the opposite camp, but without consequences for Fleury.

This is a first goal in D1 for one of the few players to have known the last two rises of the club (in D2 then in D1 with the Val d'Orge). The "old" less in view since the rise in the elite and the renewal of the club, but this goal shows in a certain way that they will also have their role to play this season to allow the club of the 'Try to keep up.

The second, ten minutes from the end seals the end of the match, now acquired in Fleury. Rodez had remained on a four-game series without defeat, each time facing direct opponents in the maintenance race. It ends this weekend with players from the Southwest who see return Fleury, always relegated, but now at a point of the RAF in the standings. A bad operation for Rodez who is preparing for another capital match, the next weekend against Olympique Marseille, another team in search of points.
