The executive committee of the French Football Federation validated yesterday the merger between the GMC2F and the GF38, the two main clubs of the agglomeration. A merger that acts the absorption of the GMC2F within the GF38, to form a single women's club in the city of Grenoble.
The rapprochement between the two clubs had been in the cards for some time. In the boxes since at least last year and started in the spring, the merger of the two clubs of the agglomeration of Grenoble finally came to fruition this summer with a vote in general assembly (97 for, 45 against, 2 abstentions) to the end of June before a validation yesterday by the FFF. A decision that results in the dissolution of the GMC2F, and the integration of its teams within the GF38.
For Nicolas Bach, this situation will not lead to many changes in the operation. Coach of the GMC2F (D2) this season, he will retain the leadership of the women's team next season. For him, this merger should allow the women's team to have "more means".
Regarding his staff, Nicolas Bach can already count on three new players recruited this summer: Julie Coin (Saint-Etienne), Sarah Huchet (FF Issy) and Laura Meynier (AS Véore Montoison). Arrivals to which should be added the arrival of "two other recruits by the end of the week". Reinforcements in a stable team with a single start for the moment, that of Nina Pereira to Le Puy (D2).
For Max Marty, general manager of the GF38, this merger will help "consolidate the forces" and "give more notoriety to women's football." Before talking about D1 and "access to the elite", his first goal is "to develop training" within the club by building on the "competitive" U19s of the GMC2F (U19 excellence challenge finalists this season) .
With this in mind, the GF38 wants to be able to "recover from the competence" that exists at the GMC2F, while giving a certain "autonomy" within the club. As such, a commission was created by the GF38 to monitor the integration of the GMC2F teams within the club.
Criticism of the method
This merger, if it seems positive on paper, also meets some criticisms. They come in particular from the GF38 women's team, both the staff and the players, who may find themselves as poor parents of this merger. Reservations expressed in particular by Nathan Limouzin (assistant coach of the women of the GF38 this season), interviewed by the website Sport Dauphinois.
Uncertainty necessarily weighs for the players who played this season in DHR (fourth division) while the GMC2F has a first team in D2 and a reserve team in DH (third division). The first team of the GF38 becomes the third team, and the place of the players is of course not acquired for the future, even if they will be a number to join the reserve team in DH.
