The first impressions of Jérôme Dauba, coach of the Girondines de Bordeaux after the draw (2-2) of his team on the lawn of Paris Saint-Germain synonymous with maintenance in D1. The opportunity to take a first look at this Bordeaux season and what has allowed to remain in the elite.

"[It] is a deliverance first and foremost for girls because [when] we leave Albi [2-1 defeat on the 18th day ed] everyone buried us. They were really at the bottom, we had a few difficult days and then I had discussions with them to try to remobilize everyone by telling them that it was four very high level matches that awaited us, that they were able to do it.

I know what they are capable of and that's what they've proven to us over the last four games. While there is the result in Paris but what we were able to do before against Lyon, Marseille, Juvisy allowed us to hope for this game. Yesterday evening, we had fun remembering the best moments of the season and all they told me about the Marseille match, the match of Juvisy, I told them the best game is the one that awaits us tomorrow and so we are happy. It also allows the Girondins to stay in D1 and the club has all its place in the championship.

To stand up to a team that will play the final of the European Cup, what does it do?

It is a pride because in addition when we see the aligned team of Paris we have something to be satisfied, even more satisfied when it is Ghoutia Karchouni and Emelyne Laurent, two girls whom I made come to the truce. I'm happy, it means that my choices to bring them are paying today. And that's why we had them come because we knew that at some point, they would allow us to maintain ourselves.

How do you explain your ability to fetch results against Paris, Juvisy, Marseille and at the same time lose points against teams that on paper may seem more at your fingertips?

We had seen on the first part of the championship after the game of Lyon and Paris where we had taken two slaps [8-0 and 0-6 ed], we had learned the lessons and I think the click, it is our first game in Montpellier, we lose only 1-0 on a set kick, we made a big benefit.

This is where we said that in the face of big teams, we were able to compete. I think this year we were in a learning phase, it was easier for us to defend well and counter because we still have not enough experience to make the game. And against Albi, Metz, Soyaux , Rodez, they gave us each time the ball, we had to play the game and we got caught in our own trap.

So we knew how to draw the lessons and the last four matches say: "If we want to keep points, that's what we have to do." I told the girls that I believed in them, that now we had to implement what we said and that's what they did. Against Lyon, it's not far and then behind, it's a great dynamic.

Do you find that the arrival of Emelyne Laurent helped you to play better, beyond the positive results that you could get?

Better play, I do not know because we were playing very well on the first half of the season. The advantage with Emelyne is that she gave us depth in the game we did not have. We were very good in the construction of the game and it allowed us to give ourselves this opportunity to have depth, the speed before we had no and it's true that suddenly we are able to have a game in possession and then on shots put depth so it's true that she brought us.

Where we did not expect it, it is in this register of axial attacker because at the base, it is a player who was formed on a side and in addition it was not necessarily its strong point the finish so it's kind of a surprise, she's really getting a plateau.

As an individual, it was your first season in D1. On what aspect do you feel you have learned the most?

I told the players that we had to gain in efficiency and I think that as and when matches, I quickly learned that we would have to become an effective team as well defensively offensively. When we play the maintenance, the priority is not to take goals, and since the Paris match in the first leg in November, we take very few goals, we became a difficult team to move and more the arrival of Emelyne, it reinforced our project of game and that is, I knew to draw the lessons of the first three months
