After his defeat against PSG at camp des lodges (3-0), Bordeaux coach Jerome Dauba answered questions from journalists.
The summary of the match => PSG - Bordeaux (3-0): The Bordelaises flank against Paris in the second half
We imagine that you are a little frustrated since you had started well in the first period?
Yes we made a good start, fifteen-twenty good first minutes, preventing Paris from developing his game. After they took a little over the top physically, but we managed to hold until half-time. We make a good start of second, creating two opportunities, but we do not mark them and behind we knew that it was going to be very hard to hold. We have not managed to maintain this pace. Already 65 minutes at this rate was very good because on the athletic level Paris is still superior. From the moment we took the first goal it was hard mentally to return to the match, but we had the merit of not letting go.
The goal was clearly to prevent Paris from playing, you had to be aggressive on the ball carrier?
Whether it is any top-4 team if we wait for them and let them play, behind we will be punished, we know it. It was necessary to prevent them from developing their game, to annoy them that we were rather well done on the first twenty minutes when we held the ball well. But physically it was hard, it makes sense.
Are the changes also hurting you?
On our side it was necessary to readjust with the Injury of Chloe Bornes (exit at the break for a quadriceps injury), but it was not more disturbing in the reorganization. On the other hand Paris they made changes which brought an added value, it is above all that. They have a depth we do not have, especially since we have injured players, Lindsey Thomas who was not yet qualified. Even after the players who have entered we can not blame the investment.
Compared to last season when you played the maintenance, it seems that this season, despite the defeat on the first day against the LOSC, there was a click after.
The match in Lille was a cons against perf. We know that our championship so far it is facing teams of our level and for now we have done pretty well against these teams. Now the frustration is not to compete a little more with the top 4 teams. But we are getting closer to last year. There is still much to improve but we are working on it. The idea would be to try to hook one [Top 4 team] by the end of the season. This year we really have reasons for satisfaction, beautiful second half in Lyon and against Montpellier. Against Paris FC we are not far, we take this goal late in the game. We do not have a complex, the group lives well together, the girls are great. They never demobilize and remain in solidarity despite being led to the score.
It promises a nice continuation, you will aim for fifth place maybe this year?
Provided you beat Soyaux and beat Albi before the winter break. We must absolutely be six victories before the truce. And behind we will be able to give ourselves ambitions.
