This Sunday, January 17, Montpellier hosts Paris Saint-Germain on behalf of the 14th day of D1. A decisive match in the title race but also for qualifying for the Champions League. In an exclusive interview for Hearts of Foot, Jessica Houara-d'Hommeaux, PSG defender, took stock of the first season and tells us about the goals of the club for the second half of the season, between championship, Champions League and Cup of Nations. La France.

Hearts of Football: What assessment can we make of this first part of the season?

Jessica Houara-d'Hommeaux: We made a very average start to the season with a loss to Lyon (5-0) and a draw against Montpellier (0-0). But as this first half of the season, we played better and better and we had more and more games. We will say that it is a very average balance sheet because we are third by the hour current, so we are not in our objectives. Now we are lucky to be still in the race for the title, in the Champions League race and for the Coupe de France, so the result is average but not totally negative because we are still racing in all the competitions.

Football Hearts: Everything can be still recoverable during the second half of the season ...

Jessica Houara-d'Hommeaux: Yes, absolutely. We are only three points from Lyon and one point from Montpellier. There are still games and we were lucky that Montpellier and Lyon cling before the truce, which allowed us to believe in the title. So, everything is possible on this second part of the season.

Hearts of Football: The fact that Montpellier is involved in the title fight, this helped the PSG?

Jessica Houara-d'Hommeaux: It plays for Paris Saint-Germain but also for women's football in general. I think it's important that we have a competitive D1 Women's Championship, the more teams are fighting for the title, and the better for us. It pulls us all up and the PSG also so yes it is positive that Montpellier is involved in the fight. I hope that the more the years go by and the more teams will join the fight for the title.

Football hearts: The goal of PSG remains to be Champion of France?

Jessica Houara-d'Hommeaux: Absolutely. Mathematically it is possible and not only mathematically because we are only three points away, Lyon drew against Montpellier and can make a draw again or have a defeat. We, we will make sure to win all our games back to believe in this title.

Football hearts: In the Champions League, PSG did not have too many worries?

Jessica Houara-d'Hommeaux: In front of Cluj, we'll say it was easier but after against Örebro, we were expecting two difficult matches because the Swedish teams are very catchy and we know they have a very good level. This has been the case on both games, we drew on both even if I think we should have won because we had more opportunities frank, now we also know that we must put our opportunities background when we have it. We did not know how to do it against Örebro, but I hope we can do it against Barcelona.

Football Hearts: Will not to arrive in the final this season, would be a disappointment?

Jessica Houara-d'Hommeaux: Yes of course. Very clearly the goal of the club is to win a title and do better than last year in the Champions League, so do better is win this Champions League.

Football Hearts: There is a big truce in the Champions League, positive or negative point?

Jessica Houara-d'Hommeaux: It's good for us because we're getting better in terms of play, in terms of collective in this season. It was difficult to start because we had new players and it was necessary for the collective to take. The more we will go in the season and more, I think, we will be better so much better for us.

Hearts of Foot: There have been three starts recently, it can upset the team?

Jessica Houara-d'Hommeaux: Shock the team, no. We are used to it, it's the life of a club, there are departures, there are arrivals and we, players, we learned to live with. We will live with as usual, whether in January, in June or in September.

Soccer Hearts: But the team's game can feel it?

Jessica Houara-d'Hommeaux: Josephine was very hurt, so we saw a little less, after that it's like that, if it's not Lindsey who plays, it will be another, there are other players who are there to replace her and who are eager to play too. These are three big starts for us, but the PSG is used to that and we will do with it.

Football Hearts: Is there a strong bet on young people anyway this season?

Jessica Houara: We have very good young, we have a very good academy and that's because PSG is not a sum of foreign individuals or even French, international. The training is present and it is important because it is the future of the club. We are lucky to have very, very good players and they do the work when they are on the field. I hope they will continue to play and that they will continue to bring us as they do now.

Hearts of Soccer: What is Jessica's personal record?

Jessica Houara-d'Hommeaux: It could be better. I think this is one of the first parts of the season when I am the most injured. Between my ankle, three weeks, and my adductor, five weeks, that's a lot. I think it is the counter-coup of the World Cup but it could be better. I especially hope that in the second half of the season there will be fewer injuries.

Soccer Hearts: What will Jessica's personal goals be?

Jessica Houara-d'Hommeaux: They will be a little bit the same as those of PSG. I want to win titles with the club because it's a moment that I'm here, and I want to win titles with the team of France, yet to be selected in the France team and to make the Olympics.

Soccer Hearts: You were there, before the "new PSG", and you're still here now, it's a pride?

Jessica Houara-d'Hommeaux: I'm not particularly proud. PSG is my heart club, so it's mainly the pride of playing for my heart club. I'm there for seven seasons, I have experienced the before and after, others have not known but it is also because the PSG has the means for there to be other coming in, and so much the better. I'm just happy to play for the club I've been supporting since I was a kid.

This Sunday, January 17th, Montpellier receives the Paris Saint-Germain at the Complex Bernard Gasset, Mama Ouattara Field at 2:15 pm.
