Long captain of the Vertes, Maéva Clemaron is one of the experienced players in a Fleury team who discovered the D1 this year. A season that is only beginning with this lost match against Paris FC on the occasion of the first day. We came back with her on this meeting.
"We are disappointed with the result. We had not come to lose, [but] to make a result. At first, there is 0-0, so we all have a point, and the goal was to keep it [and] why not make a result.
We knew, we had warned, we who have already known a little D1, that on the kicks set against teams like that, you had to be serious and strong. We fished, we took a goal. After we came back, and from there the match was relaunched. But here is the same, another long game and we are not at the fall of the ball and it is especially on that we will have to work because we know that against the big teams, and teams of D1 in general, you have to be super-strong, it's really important.
Afterwards, what is important to remember is that we tried, we played with our forces, we know that it is not necessarily these matches that matter to us for our goal of maintenance. In any case, it prepares us, [face] to a good team of Paris FC, it allowed us to work. Now we will approach Montpellier and after Bordeaux etc. matches more within our reach [and] serenely I hope. "
You have managed to produce some good game sequences, chained passes, but at the same time there is still work to really get to express yourself collectively in the field.
"Yes, there is a lot of work, afterwards it must be noted that we are not yet complete. We have injuries, we have Teninsoun Sissoko who is not there yet behind. We have Salma [Amani] who is purging her red cards [and] who is not there in 10, Sarah [Palacin] coming back from injury, she has to take some more time to be comfortable again and to please more. We know what it can bring so little by little it will be put in place.
In the end, we have big from the beginning, it may be a good thing, it allows us to have time to set up all that, to give the girls time to come back and then we did with our weapons, we have girls who discover the D1 and who learn what it is. And then, it always takes a little time to the promoted, the goal is to be as fast as possible at the level, all together. "
We have seen you talk a lot on the field, with your teammates. What message are you trying to convey to those who are new to D1?
"The message is above all to be aggressive, to take over your direct opponent. Whoever it is, we do not care, there is no name, it is a player like any other and already at first, it is to win his duel against his direct opponent. And that, all must have in mind. So being aggressive is the basis of football, and after more communication, talk well, give each other information, it's very important. "
"Afterwards, [it's also] getting up to speed, playing faster, first-line, while being released. That's all, these are messages that we've been taught for years and try to apply because we're not perfect either. This is the message we are trying to pass on to girls but I trust for our purpose. I hope that it will, in any case we will do everything for. "
