At the end of the first phase of the National Challenge U19, we now know the course of what awaits the 36 teams for the rest of the competition. The composition of the "Elite" and "Excellence" hens of the Challenge National U19 has just been unveiled by the French Football Federation on Wednesday.
The 12 teams qualified for the "Elite" level are those who finished in the first two places of their respective groups, during the first phase of the National Challenge, played since September. Last qualified team for the "Elite" level, the LOSC has largely imposed itself against Fleury in the North and validates its ticket at the expense of FC Rouen.
The teams that finished between the third and sixth place (24 teams) of the different pools, will be donated to the Challenge "Excellence" which Montpellier is the title holder.
In group A of the "Elite" challenge, there are the two clubs of the capital, Paris Saint-Germain, winner of the last two editions of the event (2016 and 2017) and Paris FC. In Group B, Olympique Lyonnais will have the opportunity to play against Montpellier and Saint-Étienne who finished undefeated in Group D, in the first phase, ahead of the Héraultaises and OM.
The matches of this second phase will begin the weekend of January 13 and 14, 2018.
