Closing the 14th day, Olympique Lyonnais won against Montpellier on the score of two goals to one (2-1). A part generally controlled by the Lyonnaises, even if they conceded a goal at the very end of the match, and a success that allows them to consolidate their first place in the standings.

The pre-game of the 14th-day shock was marked by the announcement of the absence of Wendie Renard and Ada Hegerberg, the top scorer in the championship. The two players, injured, were not in the group retained by Reynald Pedros as Morgan Brian, whose first minutes are expected with OL.

Absences of weight on the Lyon side, which eclipsed those, at least as numerous on the Herault side. Jean-Louis Saez has had to deal with the injuries of Anouk Dekker, Virginia Torrecilla and Sandie Toletti, who are potential midfielders. A midfield, where Marion Torrent and Clarisse Le Bihan were associated before the defense with Katrine Veje positioned in the axis behind Stina Blackstenius.

Montpellier suffers before adjusting defensively

On the Lyon side, the absence of Ada Hegerberg led to a reorganization of the offensive line with Eugénie Le Sommer in the lead and Amel Majri on the left side, while Shanice van de Sanden took the right lane. The first minutes unsurprisingly Lyon settle in the opposing camp with a first incursion from the second minute, but the center of Amandine Henry can not find Amel Majri in the box.

Montpellier is also in danger on the set kicks that are linked to the outskirts of the Montpellier area. In the 8th minute, Jakobsson is close to diverting the ball into his own goal on a free kick from Majri from the right side. On the corner that follows, Meline Gerard must intervene on his line to stop the head of Marozsan.

After the first few minutes when Montpellier gave the impression to adjust to face the waves of Lyon, pressing the Hérault, better organized, can scratch a few balloons in the feet of Lyonnais midfield, but the transition to attack is more complicated and Montpellier does not manage to shake the opposing defense.

A tussle settles, with a game concentrated in the Montpellier camp often confined to defend. Lyon, gives the impression to be patient but also to settle in a false rhythm that benefits Montpellier. At the end of the first half, Montpellier finally manages to combine in the Lyon camp. Right side, Janice Cayman transmits to Jakobsson who relies on Katrine Veje before centering back to Marie-Charlotte Léger who fails to frame his recovery of the right (40th).

Héraultaises picked before half-time

Montpellier is emboldened but is also exposed, with a long ball Selma Bacha to Eugenie Le Sommer escaping behind the back of the defense Herault. In the surface, she places a strike of the right foot that brushes against the left post before fleeing the frame (41e). An action on which we already saw OL take the advantage, a reprieve that will last only two minutes for the MHSC who cash a first goal before the break.

On a new ball lost by Montpellier in the middle of the field, Saki Kumagai comes to create the surplus right side and manages to combine with van de Sanden in the hallway. The two milieus of Montpellier, Torrent and Le Bihan are sucked, which frees space in their back for Dzsenifer Marozsan.

Van de Sanden manages to give him the ball, and the German playmaker can find Eugénie Le Sommer in the surface on a pass light. The Sommer puts the ball in front of the goal, and if Majri can not take the ball, she leads with her two defenders, which allows Marozsan to be alone at the far post to conclude this very good movement Lyons (43).

Dzsenifer Marozsan in demonstration

At the return of the locker room we find the same pattern, with a Lyon team in control. Montpellier manages at times to go to the opposite camp, and exposes itself again to the fulgurances lyonnaises. In the 63rd minute, a two against cons led by Le Sommer and Marozsan ended in a two-on-one situation, on which Dzsenifer Marozsan decided to take a chance at 16 meters. His shot hits the crossbar and seems to bounce behind the line, an action on which the referee of the match does not validate the goal

Deprived of a second goal in this match, the German international finally offers a double five minutes later. A free-kick on the left for OL 20 meters from the goal and Marozsan chose to hit the goal directly. Meline Gerard seems to anticipate the center and is caught on a ball that lober the keeper Herault and finish his race in the nets of Montpellier (68th).

With two goals conceded, difficult to imagine a return to Montpellier but in the minutes that follow, Lyon will not manage to definitively take off. A precaution that might seem unnecessary in view of the face of the meeting, but the players of Jean-Louis Saez manage to play at times in the opposite camp and get a few kicks stopped near the surface of Lyon.

In stoppage time, Sakina Karchaoui takes a free-kick on the left and manages to find the head of Linda Sembrant, interspersed at the entrance of six meters between two Lyon players. On a crossed head, the captain of Montpellier places the ball flush with the right post, out of range of Sarah Bouhaddi who cashed his third goal of the season on this action (90 + 2).

This burst of Montpellier has the merit of animating the last moments of the match, giving a less dazzling shade to Lyon success tonight. A result that for the moment clears a little more the route of the OL for a new coronet in D1, while Montpellier is no longer entitled to the error if the MHSC wants to see Europe next season.
