On the occasion of the 6th day of D1, Paris Saint-Germain won at home to Paris FC thanks to a goal from Marie-Antoinette Katoto, scored at the end of the first period.
It was an expected match between two teams that are still struggling to locate this season. Paris Saint-Germain, after their draw against Soyaux on the first day, has not yet convinced on its ability to play the leading roles this season. On the side of Paris FC, this match was a new test after the heavy defeat a few weeks ago against OL, a derby between the two Paris, even if the match was played on the side of Bondoufle, in the stadium Robert Bobin.
Paris FC upsets opponents early in the match
The start of the match is marked by the very good start of the Paris FC, able to put a strong pressure on the first rebounds of the opponents, and get PSG high in his half field. From the second minute, Gaëtane Thiney manages to steal the ball in the feet of Formiga at the entrance to the surface of the PSG. Near to open the scoring, the captain of Paris FC finally falls on Katarzyna Kierdzynek vigilante in front of his line.
Paris FC shake their opponents in the first minutes, even if the players of Patrice Lair manage to gradually get out of the water. In the first half hour, no real opportunity for PSG, despite an incursion of Jennifer Hermoso (15th) and a few free kicks that Parisian will have difficulty exploiting.
But the embrace of Paris FC loses its strength over the minutes and PSG manages to create real opportunities late in the first period. It is first Marie-Laure Delie who stumbles on Karima Benameur, with a half-volley shot that the goalkeeper of Paris FC deflects for a corner (35th).
PSG finds the solution on corner
It is then on one of these corners that Paris will take the advantage. Fixed kicks that multiply before the break, and often hit by Jennifer Hermoso, the Spanish attacker who has evolved into a position of "nine-and-a-half" in the axis behind Marie-Laure Delie.
At the 45th minute, Hermoso strikes one of the corners, on the left, and finds Marie-Antoinette Katoto's header rising higher than everyone at the back post and sending the ball to the back of the net (45) . This is the seventh goal in six days for the young Parisian striker who continues to offensively carry his team. A goal that was again scored on set-piece, a vital source of goals for Patrice Lair's team on this first half of the season.
This opening of the score allows PSG to realize its high point, and give a little air against a team of Paris FC who seems able to return at any time in this game. However, the return of the locker room, the ascendancy of PSG is confirmed early in the second period, with greater control, better circulation of the ball and especially a Parisian midfielder who managed to limit the influence of Gaëtane Thiney. The offensive game of Paris FC which passes a lot by his captain, and on this second period Thiney often had to deal with the vigilance of Formiga, which gave him little freedom of movement.
No break or return
The first opportunity of the second period is also for the PSG through Marie Antoinette Katoto (52). She manages to play Elisa de Almeida on a feint of hit before trying his luck and stumble on Karima Benameur who diverts the ball for a corner. PSG then misses the break after the hour of play against a defense of Paris FC who manages to postpone the deadline on two consecutive kicks (66th and 67th).
A difficulty to put the opponent away that will allow Paris FC to return to the match with a first against in the 71st minute, after which Mathilde Bourdieu sees his shot at the entrance to the surface just pass- above the frame. An action that is one of the illustrations of the incredible activity of Bourdieu at the forefront of the attack of Paris FC, multiplying the races and displacements, as well to propose solutions that to hinder the first relaunchs of the opponents.
A first opportunity followed by several free kicks on the edge of the PSG struck alternately by Gaëtane Thiney (75th) and Théa Greboval (78th) but failed to find the net. An end of the match where the players of the PSG manage to hold their victory, with even a last recovery of Formiga in the axis near the surface and which abuts on the right post of Benameur (90 + 1).
PSG can finally enjoy the final whistle, with a victory that has finally played little, as often in Paris derbies.
The post-match reactions:
- Anissa Lahmari (Paris FC): "Today, we showed that we were not afraid of PSG"
- Pascal Gouzenes (Paris FC, coach): "There was no gap between PSG and us"
