PSG today confirmed the arrival of Ashley Lawrence until 2019. The 21-year-old Canadian international is a rookie of choice for Paris, who sees one of the most versatile players of her generation and has already broken with the Canadian team at the high level.

It was also an expected announcement of the winter transfer window in D1. Ashley Lawrence had her medical visit in 2016, on December 29 before formalizing her signature with the Capital Club on Tuesday. The Canadian player is four years out of college football where she shined alongside Kadeisha Buchanan with the University of West Virginia.

A course that ended with a final (lost against the USC Trojans) of the NCAA College Cup, the tournament that brings together the best university teams in the United States. This is the best result achieved by the Virginia team who flew over this year's conference championship largely thanks to its two Canadian players, Kadeisha Buchanan, who should join OL and Ashley Lawrence now at PSG. Lawrence is also part of the second season of the eleven type of the 2016 university season which ended last December.

A success in the university championship that goes with no less brilliant performances in selection with the Canadian team. Ashley Lawrence became at just 21 years old one of the centerpieces of the team of John Herdman, realizing an exemplary tournament at the last Olympic Games with the key to a bronze medal against Brazil. She became indispensable in the Canadian eleven, having started in selection at 17 in 2013.

Transform corridors into boulevard
In this Canadian team, Lawrence embodies the versatility, an essential quality in a Canadian collective marked by an ability to evolve permanently tactically and seek to disrupt the opponent. And in this business, Ashley Lawrence is a player on which the British coach can rely. We had the opportunity to see her evolve to three different positions (side left / right, middle defensive) in the same match, during the friendly France / Canada played in Auxerre, and continue to show his advantage.

On the sides, Ashley Lawrence is in hell for his vis-à-vis, a relentless duels, and an acceleration able to overflow the best defenses. Athletic qualities that allow him to evolve as well as lateral position as eccentric midfielder, a little like the players like Eve Périsset, his future teammate or Amel Majri at OL.

With a bronze medal at the Games, and 46 caps including six tenures at the 2015 World Cup played at home in Canada, Ashley Lawrence is a top-level player. It should represent a valuable addition to Patrice Lair's squad, embodying, to a large extent, the qualities that made Paris a perfect first half of the season.
