This Sunday, November 22, PSG received Albi at the Stade Charléty in a match without real brio on the part of the Parisian women who have imposed themselves quite hard on the score of 3-0, a match counting for the 10th day of the D1 Feminine .
Paris Saint-Germin will have no respite after the attacks of 13 November. The Parisiennes have played twice at home, first against Örebro in the knockout stages of the Champions League (0-0) on November 18, and this Sunday against Albi (3-0) for the championship. In a way, the players of PSG coach Farid Benstiti have been able to focus on games rather than recent events. On the other hand the benefits will not have been flamboyant, rather normal when one lives in Paris and one has been touched directly or indirectly by the attacks. However as it was hammered by Farid Benstiti and the players of the PSG, the club had to play, to continue to live to pay tribute to the victims and all those who suffer the consequences of these abominable acts.
It is with all this emotional charge that the match began, and as often, it is the PSG who took the lead and very quickly tried to score.
In the first minutes, it was first Marie-Laure Delie, again titular, who came face to face against the guardian of Albi, Patrícia Morais, and who lost his duel. The Portuguese goalkeeper deflects the ball for a corner. Corner that will not give anything.
Parisian women will intensify their efforts over the minutes. In the 20th minute, Shirley Cruz on the left side of the attack, goes deep for Marie-Laure Delie who crosses for Cristiane, who is too short, but the ball goes for Lisa Dahlkvist who hits and sees his shot hit the bar cross. Following the action, nobody manages to take the ball, a lost opportunity for PSG.
In the minute that followed, Cristiane made a "one-two" with Marie-Antoinette Katoto, then the Brazilian attack hits left foot but sees his shot just past the cages of the keeper of Albi.
The goal will not be long in coming, because in the 24th minute, the Costa Rican midfielder, Shirley Cruz, finds himself isolated in the surface and does not let his chance pass. 1-0 for PSG.
Liberated, Parisian women will not enjoy it. The intensity comes down a little even if the domination is clearly Parisian.
New goal opportunity in the 37th minute. Shirley Cruz fires a free kick which is pushed back by Albi's defense. The ball came back to the feet of Shirley Cruz, who was at the far post and saw Sweden's midfielder Caroline Seger take the lead, but the ball eventually hit the left post of the goalkeeper, Patrícia Morais.
The half-time ends with a score of 1-0 for Paris Saint-Germain. A flawless domination against Albi who will have defended well but will not have offended PSG offensively.
The second period resumes on the same physiognomy. PSG dominates outrageously in front of brave Albigensians.
In spite of the good will of the players of Adolphe Ogouyon, the coach of Albi, the Parisiennes will quickly double the stake.
In the 51st minute, Shirley Cruz, the metronome midfielder, makes a pass to the surface entrance for Cristiane, who eccentric on the right side of Albi's penalty area, hits unopposed and veil balloon finish in the back of the net of Patrícia Morais. 2-0 for PSG.
After this second goal, we are heading for a big win? Not at all. As said throughout the article, Paris Saint-Germain will dominate and Albi will rarely be out of his half.
It is besides the guardian of Albi which was highlighted. Patrícia Morais made three quality saves, which deprived the Parisiennes to amplify the score. The Portuguese goalkeeper repulsed a shot by Marie-Laure Delie (63 ') and two powerful strikes from German striker Anja Mittag (67' and 71 '), returned to play.
The Albigensian bulwark will not, however, last until the end. The Parisians will still add a third goal. In the 78th minute, Anja Mittag infiltrates Albi's center, and Marie-Laure Delie, well placed, has only to push deep into the net. 3-0 for PSG.
The victory for the Parisiennes is undoubtedly possible, but it could have been more consistent and we know that in this championship, the goal-average is very very important. At the same time, Lyon beat 7-1 Soyaux and Montpellier defeated the VGA on the score of 5-0. Juvisy will also have won 3-0 against Guingamp. The two direct opponents of PSG, who are ahead in the standings, have therefore scored more goals.
PSG's next match will be decisive against a direct competitor, Juvisy, on December 5th at 9 pm in Bondoufle.
As for Albi, the service was rather positive, because the team is defensively in place. However, against a team like PSG, the attack was non-existent. Albi will have to revive against Saint-Etienne on Sunday, December 6 to quickly resolve the goal of the club, maintaining the elite of French women's football. Photos: Giovani Pablo
