After the draw 0-0 in Bordeaux in the rain and on a field practicable, the coach of ASJ Soyaux, Sebastien Joseph delivered us his impressions.

Match summary => Bordeaux - Soyaux (0-0): A tasty derby, ruined by the field

"Difficult terrain. I think the weather is there for a lot since the pitch really deteriorated as the game progressed. And inevitably it made the game actions more complicated. I still congratulate the two teams who tried to produce the game despite the conditions. At the end of the match it became very difficult to play. "

It is true that it is not normal to play on such a terrain ...

Yes, after honestly at first I said to myself we're never going to play, it's not possible. And after looking more closely, I said to myself: if we do not play today we will not play all winter. At the start [of the match] it is not so bad that I find [the pitch]. After we knew he was going to degrade. The weather made the conditions very difficult, but I do not think the pitch was impracticable at the beginning of the match.

Your team seemed physically above in this match. And you do not make a change until the 80th minute. Is there an explanation?

Yes, it's complicated to change in this kind of match. We knew that the offensive potential is important and fast so a player who is not necessarily in the rhythm is complicated. It's better a player even a little tired, but who is in the thing.

On the other hand, did you make several tactical changes during the match?

What's wrong is that we had a defensive animation that was a bit tied, when the game was the opposite, to go inside to close their number 10, even if they left their players with completely free wings. Because we know that in women's football, except in Lyon, there are very few players who have the ability to make a cross of more than 60 meters of quality. And even more in these [meteorological] conditions. So we really had this desire to shut up inside.

After that it is true that on the offensive level I leave them a lot of freedoms to swap, cross and provoke. It is their creativity that must be able to express itself. The only regret I have is that given the frank situations, I think with a little more conviction in the [last] gesture we could put a [goal].

Last year you were not coach, but Soyaux had won his two derby against Bordeaux (first leg and return 3-2 and 2-0). It must be a little frustrating there this draw, especially since in friendly you had taken 3-0?

Yes we had a friendly 3-0 but after we must say what it is, since last year the team [Bordeaux] has changed a lot. There is a real quality and then they recruited. Not necessarily international players, but players who have qualities and a big experience in D1: Lavaud, Gathrat, Barbance. And we know that at this level, experience counts enormously.

And regarding your team, Justine Deschamps (side / defender) has really made a big game. Are you satisfied with your side?

I did not really find a player below today. There was a nice solidarity. We have a quality team too. Even if today we missed Siga Tandia. Then, we recruited an American player who was not yet qualified, Danielle Tolmais (from Saint-Malo). I think the team will still improve in quality and it will alleviate the departure of Allison [Blais] anyway.

Next weekend you will play Lille for the first match of the return phase, how do you apprehend it?

Knowing that in the first leg we won 2-1, but it will not be easy, it's a great team. We know that we have graduates who are really good. Then it's going to be our second affiliate move. After that it goes further than here, [in Bordeaux] it was not too long. That was also my fear of a possible postponement today. It would have made us return in the night of December 17 to 18 to play December 20 this game late. It would have been complicated. We do not have the numbers yet to put together the long trips and matches in a short time.
