A little less than a year ago, Tatiana Solanet left ASPTT Albi to join Dijon, a club that also aspires to settle down in D1. Today, the DFCO is leading the group B in D2 and can legitimately claim a climb next season, even if the road is still long in a group B dense and very open. We talk about it with Tatiana Solanet, one of the essential players of Dijon on this first part of the championship.
Coeur de Foot - Dijon is now leading the group B. Even if it is mid-season, it must be nice to finish the year in the chair of the leader?
Tatiana Solanet - We will have a good break. And it's always nice to be first, knowing that the goal is to be first at the end of the season.
"The team is ready to climb in D1"
CDF - Already last season, Dijon was not far from the climb. Was this second place from last season still in the lead on this first game of the championship?
T.S - Yes, this season, we say it's a little year or never, because already, I think we have a very good team this year. After, finishing second last year at one point of the team that went up, it was quite frustrating and so suddenly, we are rather reassembled not to make the same mistakes as the last year.
CDF - When we look at your squad, there are a lot of players, you are part of it, who have a lived in D1. The workforce seems to be built for the climb ...
T.S - Yes, we have girls who were in D1, who had their place in D1. There is Coline Gouineau who joined us, who was titular in Albi, I was also titular in Albi. There is Alexia Trevisan, the captain [of Dijon], who has been years in D1 and has a lot of experience and it's true that the team is ready to climb in D1. Frankly, I think it's a good year.
After, we made a small mistake against Saint-Etienne [defeat 2-3 in Dijon during the 6th day], which we broke a little morally because we thought it was the team that was going the more we bother. But hey, we'll try to win at home because it's absolutely right.
CDF - Saint-Étienne, is the team that you fear for the rest of the season?
T.S - To fear is a big word. I think it's the team that will bother us the most. They are descended from D1, they have girls of experience, girls who have years of D1 behind them, even if it is more really the same level as before [when the ASSE was in D1]. I think it's the team that has the most experience, in the game that was the most effective and that has bothered us the most.
"We caught three goals, a little gags"
CDF - The coach [Yannick Chandioux] told us that this match, although lost to Saint-Etienne, had been useful for the future, including defensively. You also felt a change afterwards?
T. - We had a pretty good start to the season, and we were [a bit too] confident. And [this match] gave us a little track, to say to ourselves: "It's never won, it's never easy." And I think somewhere, it has also made us mature. So at the same time, it's not worse, even if we lost points stupidly. After that match, we were not good either, I think it was our worst game since the beginning of the season.
CDF - By the way, we can see that in your last five games, five wins (including one in the Cup), no goal conceded. Is this the sign that something has happened?
T.S - Yes I think. As we took three goals, a little gags. It's small mistakes, me the first, the goal of 2-1 we take, it's me who loses a ball in the middle and then a Stephanoise [Candice Gherbi] pulls from afar and marks. And that, for example, for me, it made me work on some things and suddenly, I know I will not make the same mistakes.
CDF - Recently, there was this victory against Grenoble that allows you today to be alone in mind. What do you remember from this match "at the top" against Grenoble?
TS - We were very strong, really all together, a match where we can really say that we have been in solidarity and on all lines, the defense with the circles, the circles with the attack, and the whole team with the Guardian. It was really a team. We knew how to mark this goal which liberated us. After in the game, I personally thought we were above, without there being a chasm either. Defensively, but also to create the game. We left the defense, we moved the ball a lot, it was really a good match on all lines.
CDF - Exactly, on the creation of the game, you have a central role in this area within the team
T.S - I know my role is important enough. I know we're counting on me and that
