After the victory of PSG on the lawn of Rodez, we exchanged a few words with Vero Boquete. The opportunity to talk about these great matches where the Spanish player has become accustomed to shine and among them a quarter-final Champions League to come against his former club, Bayern Munich.

Football Hearts - When you left Bayern to come to Paris, was it to have a little more play time?
Vero Boquete - What I wanted in Germany was to win the Champions League with Frankfurt and the Bundesliga with Bayern. So, I felt it was time for me to change, to another country, to another championship, other goals. It was also a change of style of play because today I am at the top of my career and in Sweden, the United States and Germany I always had to adapt and I wanted to play in a place where my qualities are used. at their maximum and I think that France and PSG corresponded to this objective.

CDF - You also came to play and win against Olympique Lyonnais?
V.B - Yes, that's the goal because it's the best club in Europe and they win every year here in France so on our side, we are ambitious, we want to beat them and be the best team in France.

CDF - Lyon you beat them in the Championship, it was a great moment for you?
V.B - It was really a good time because we worked very hard for long months. We were convinced that we could do it and we did it so it gave us extra strength because we know they are very good, a great team but if there is anyone who can beat them, it's us.

CDF - Then, there were four lost points that change the course of the championship. This is a situation in which you never found yourself?
V.B - Yes, that's right. There is always time for new experiences. Obviously, it was a disappointment because we played and won on the field so when you lose points off the field, it's really disturbing for everyone. But we keep hope, because there are so many things that are not clear / definitive [The PSG has appealed the decision of the FFF, the decision will be known in the coming days editor's note]. And we continue to work every day, win every weekend. That's the goal from here, and then we'll see how many points we have.

CDF - In March, you will meet Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Do you expect a particular match?
V.B - Yes, it will be special. It's always special when you play against your old club. Bayern made me win the Bundesliga, I have a lot of friends there. It will be special, I also know that it will be very difficult. They are a big opponent and they are very good players but I think it will be an open match and we will do our best.

And Bayern, you talk to your teammates? To explain their game and give them advice ...
V.B - At the moment, we are focused on the championship and the Coupe de France because that's what we have in front of us. We are still in February and by March 23 and the first leg against Bayern, we still have a lot of games to play. So we do not have time to worry about Bayern when we have other opponents. But of course, as the Bayern match approaches, I'll tell my teammates what I think and know about this team, how they are used to playing, and where we can hurt them.
