At 26, the player of Paris FC had her first selection with the French team last month, during the friendly against England (1-0 victory). The Parisian midfielder takes advantage of this new gathering at Clairefontaine to discuss with us his start of the season at Paris FC, the Blue but also his activity as a journalist. Interview.

Hearts of Football - Before you arrived in Juvisy where your coach Pascal Gouzenes set you in the middle and mainly in number 6, you played many positions: lateral, central defender or even attacking with the FF Issy on your return from the USA. With hindsight, do you consider this versatility as an asset or on the contrary did it not slow you down a bit?

Inès Jaurena - Versatility is always an asset especially when you're young, because the more versatile you play, because there are always holes to plug. After that it is true that we can see it differently also because if we are at a specific position, we will progress more and more know the specificities of the position.

I think that for every job that I have been able to do I have played for long periods. When I was right back I stayed a long time, when I was number six I stayed there a long time too and I enjoyed every time. Today I know that I like to play in the middle, but to have known other positions is good too.

CDF - You have still kept small remnants of attack because in the first game of the season you find yourself in front of the goals to conclude a center of Julie Soyer, and head. It should not happen to you so often?

IJ - It's true that I do not have a profile where I score a lot of goals, after if at the beginning of the season I scored (two goals in two matches) it was because I was playing higher on the field . So, it was really by my positioning that I found myself in this situation, [mark] it is not something that I think first.

CDF - You have a dynamic game and it looks like you like to hit the goal, you take your chance. We saw him again last weekend against Soyaux.

I.J - Not necessarily, I really do not focus on scoring. I do not go into the game saying "I have to score." After yes, in my positioning I try to be always where it is needed, and if it is necessary to finish, I try to finish even if I am aware that it is not my first quality. Personally I think to be better to recover a balloon than to put it at the bottom. After if I'm within six meters and need to score, it's a pleasure to score.

"We enjoy playing together again, (...) and yes, there are things that are created"

CDF - On what points, then, do you think you have to work again?

I.J - Rather on the direction of the game. I tend to stay a little on the same side and play short. Then, just be a little more offensive and reach the goal.

CDF - Is your small size an asset for you or a handicap in the middle?

I.J - I have a small template yes but I do with. I have trouble analyzing whether it can be a benefit or not, because I've always been small. After I find that I have a good timing for the head, it's ok, I do not suffer too much at the level of aerial duels. I try to be at the maximum in anticipation and go out on the ball carrier. So I do not feel that this is a big disadvantage but it is sure that having the size, physically it must help well. Me, I do without (smile).

CDF - We see this year that Paris FC is really starting to build its game, it's fun to see, and even for you as players you have to take more pleasure to play?

I.J - Yes, the previous seasons were pretty complicated with Juvisy, we did not have a game identity and had trouble playing together. It felt like we could do better than last year in the field. As a result, we enjoy playing together, playing football, holding the ball, and yes there are things that are created. Now I think we can do better with the ball and in match management.

CDF - Are you slowly getting back from Montpellier, Paris Saint-Germain and maybe even Lyon?

I.J - Yes, after we know that with the staff that we have, the quality it is there, it goes through training, regain automatisms and be on a positive dynamic. But we do not doubt that compared to a team like Montpellier, in terms of quality, we are very close. We have a young team with often young people in the starting lineup and it also makes you want to give yourself time to do better. Even if it is necessary to be successful on the current season.

CDF - During the matches of Paris FC against Montpellier or PSG, Pascal Gouzenes associated you with Anissa Lahmari and after the match against Paris precisely, Anissa evoked in press conference that you taught him a lot about this post. Do you also feel that role of "counselor" that you could have?

I.J - I knew that Anissa was a player who used to play higher, so I knew very well that I should guide her as number 6. After that it just seems normal. When I had less experience in this post, including my first year at Juvisy (now Paris FC), I played with Sandrine Soubeyrand and she guided me. For me, it's just normal to help someone who feels less comfortable in the job. The key is communication. When one is guided, with communication, it is much easier. But it comes to me more and more naturally with the experience I have accumulated.

After, with Anissa we get along well in the game naturally. There are players like that, with whom the feeling goes well of entry.

CDF - What can you tell us about the return of Charlotte Bilbault, who was returning to the field last weekend in the match against Soyaux, who had suffered a concussion on September 24th? during the match in Lyon?

I.J - We were all very happy that she was coming back. Already that it is not serious and that it has been well. It was a pleasure to integrate him back into the eleven, we know that she is an important player on the team and she did very well. At the same time we were aware that she had not been there for a while, but at the same time it was as if she had always been there because it was natural to see her among us.

CDF - In April 2014, you are summoned for the first time in France A team by Philippe Bergeroo. At this moment you know that taking a place for the World Cup will be complicated, especially since an ankle injury will take you away from the field some time. It was not too hard to live, especially emotionally, these highs and lows in the space of a few months?

I.J - No, mentally, it was not so complicated to be called, not to be called. We must always believe in his luck, and then, it may seem boat but the main thing is to blossom in club and play well in club. After happens what happens.

"Yes, [Corinne Deacon] gives me my chance, now we must not disappoint"

CDF - Since the appointment of Corinne Deacon you have been called in each list, even if the first time you had to give up because of an injury. You did not have a little apprehension to tell you decidedly ...

I.J - It's not for me (ends the sentence laughing). Not necessarily, I thought that at first I was going to heal. And then if already I'm called a first time and I re-form club, I hoped to have a second chance to show what I could not show the first time.

CDF - In the end, you had this second chance, since the next month you are called again and you will even know your first selection being titularized against England. What do you think of this first?

I.J - I remember a lot of positive even if it could have been better in the game, especially in relation to the agreement with the teammates. I think it may be a little normal also because we discover, at least I discover them. But I saw what it was, I saw the intensity and I tried to take maximum pleasure in this game.

CDF - Question of intensity you have felt, since in the 11th minute of play, you make a nice bump on the upper front after a shock with Fara Williams.

I.J - (laughs) Yes, these are intense matches. A bit like the big matches of Division 1. There is intensity from the beginning to the end because we know that if we lift our feet a little, in the space of a few seconds, we can take a goal or put teammates in trouble. You must always be thoroughly!

CDF - Not so long ago, you played in France B team with many players who are now in A also: Marion Torrent, Cissoko Hawa, Aminata Diallo, Viviane Asseyi. It makes integration easier?

I.J - Finally, I have the feeling to know a little everyone because we all rubbed a little, close, far, we cross, in young selections, selection B, club. I think we all know each other a little and integration, it was easy.

CDF - And adaptation with Corinne Deacon? She trusts you it feels, she really gives you a chance?

I.J - Yes she gives me my chance, that I can not say the opposite. Now we must not disappoint.

CDF - We go back to the past, in 2010 you are European Champion U19, this is your only major title to date?

IJ - There was this title in the European Championship under 19, and I did the universiades with Jeff [Jean-François] Niemezcki where we were university world champions in 2015. Moreover, among the girls here [in France team], there was Aminata Diallo too. These are great memories. It was really a great adventure. Selection B, in general, is a good springboard. It gives international experience anyway and it helps to stay a little involved.

CDF - At this European Championship, the co-top scorer (with the German Turid Knaak) is none other than Lieke Martens. Besides you lose against the Netherlands and Martens puts a goal. Do you remember?

I.J - (looking in his memory) I do not remember at all. I did not even know we played the Netherlands ...

CDF - It was your first match, your only loss to the tournament

I.J - Oh yeah? I do not even remember the course. What was lost 2-0? (that's it). For the Universiade we had lost 2-0 also our first game against Canada. Like what to lose the first game (laughs). It calls into question.

"I got my degree [in journalism]"

CDF - Otherwise, next to football you study journalism is that?

I.J - Yes, I had my diploma. I did a journalism training at INSEP. INSEP offers this with a school of journalism in Paris for top athletes. So the courses are mainly at INSEP and some at the CFJ (Journalists Training Center).

CDF - Now that you have your degree, what are you doing exactly?

I.J - Here I work with the Paris FC club. I help Clément Gervais to communicate and we develop the video side, image. Last year, I summarized the game after the matches but now it's the federation that does it. So we made the match reactions, the presentation of the match with the teammates and the interviews, portraits of players. We are trying to make some videos a bit off-beat too.

CDF - It's not too complicated to interview your own teammates? Do you manage to have the necessary perspective?

I.J - Yes, after that one always tries to leave me in my role of player above all. When these are things that I can afford to do, I do it. But, for example, the days of the match are avoided to me to have tasks. Otherwise I can interview the teammates with a little perspective. It is rather for them sometimes that it is complicated to answer, but as a rule, it works well.

Finally, it is assumed that the 2019 World Cup in France, to choose you preferred to live on the ground press stand?

I.J - Yes, that's for sure! (with a nod and smile) Anyway, yeah. I do not see myself covering the 2019 World Cup, I see myself no longer play it for sure. After the path is still long.
